HAS green academy

HAS green academy uses its expertise for research, advice and product development in collaboration with the professional field. HAS is a partner for organisations, companies and governments in exploring, connecting and applying knowledge and expertise.
Research agenda
14 lecturers and around 75 teacher-researchers work together with students, lecturers and professionals from the field on a leading research agenda with practice-oriented research projects, both in The Netherlands and abroad. Specific information about international projects can be found at HAS International Projects.
Our society is changing rapidly. We are confronted with major social challenges in terms of climate, biodiversity and food supply, which require new answers, innovative solutions and systemic thinking.
These issues have a direct influence on how HAS green academy shapes its research agenda. HAS green academy has the ambition and feels the responsibility to use its expertise in agriculture, food and the living environment to contribute to practical solutions that make our world healthier.
3 focal points
HAS green academy has three focus areas that will be further developed in the coming years:
- Healthy food and healthy living: healthy food products in a healthy food environment, including encouraging healthy food choices.
- Healthy food production: future-proof agriculture and horticulture and sustainably produced food.
- Healthy living environment: a biodiverse and climate-adaptive landscape.
The foundation for each focus area is formed by a research group in which various lecturers collaborate on different lines of research with underlying research questions and associated projects.
HAS green academy is actively committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which enables us to measure our impact.
