HAS becomes HAS green academy

HAS green academy reinforces development into a centre of expertise for agro, food and living environment in the Southern Netherlands.
HAS University of Applied Sciences celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Since 1947, the educational institute has grown from a higher agricultural school to a multi-faceted university of applied sciences where students and professionals are welcome for education, research, expertise and advice. HAS is setting course for a future as the expertise centre for the agro, food and living environment sector in the Southern Netherlands. To emphasise this development, HAS University of Applied Sciences is now called HAS green academy.
HAS focuses on lifelong learning with a wide range of higher vocational courses, business courses and in-company training in the field of agro, food and living environment. In this way, HAS supports (future) professionals in their development. Together with organisations, companies and governments, HAS green academy explores and connects “green” knowledge and skills and applies them in practice.
Movement and progress
The size and complexity of social issues in the field of agriculture, food and living environment require new answers and new solutions. HAS actively seeks connections and opportunities with a focus on making our environment healthier, with sufficient healthy food. Board chairman Reggy van der Wielen: “Our modified name underlines this. HAS green academy stands for movement, for progress. As an explorer of, for and with the green sector, we offer a place to learn, to research, to exchange ideas and to arrive at new perspectives and angles. We offer space for practice-oriented research and local and (inter)national entrepreneurship. In doing so, we prepare for new forms of education to be developed, such as associate degrees, professional doctorates, masters and microcredentials.”
New corporate identity
A modified name also requires a new visual identity. This will be introduced step by step and carefully considered. In doing so, HAS takes into account natural replacement or purchase moments from both a sustainability and cost perspective. With a completely renewed website: www.has.nl and a new student campaign as the first visible expressions. Van der Wielen: “The color green is the main color of our corporate identity and stands for growth and development of (future) professionals in agro, food and living environment and therefore also for growth and development of the sectors in which they (will) work.”
