Bachelor Landscape & Garden Architecture

At Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts (EhB), you will learn how to design gardens, green and urban spaces, and landscapes in a sustainable and climate-conscious manner. We see design as the creative development of conceptual, implementation-ready or policy-based proposals for the design and layout of outdoor spaces. EhB teaches you how to organise and design both natural and man-made elements using scientific and intuitive methods. The result of your work must meet the requirements of usability, spaciousness and visual quality.

Much practice in the botanical garden

You will be out and about from day one. You don’t become a landscape and garden architect by studying books. We head out into nature and give lessons in botany in the botanical garden in Meise. In the studio, we will challenge you to take your first steps in design. Together with other students, you will think about urban design. Under the guidance of the teachers, you will experiment with ideas, techniques and processes. Plus, we will visit projects on site. A theoretical basis remains necessary, of course.

Guidance during your studies

You will never be left to fend for yourself. Our lecturers will guide you throughout your entire programme, from your first experiences in the studio to your bachelor’s thesis. Lecturers are always approachable and open to inquiries. What’s more, we all have our own areas of expertise. You will be taught by landscape architects, biologists, garden architects, urban planners, graphic designers, ecologists, art historians and interior architects.
