ECLAS 2026 Call for Abstracts opens
We are pleased to invite abstracts for the 2026 edition of the ECLAS conference to be held at the University of Technology Delft from 16 to 19 September 2026. The theme of the conference is Take Care: Planetary landscape architecture. Within this topic we invite contributions on theory and discourse, ways of knowing and doing, voices and dialogue, planetary challenges and transformative education. Together, they form a framework for a profession that is ethically engaged, relationally aware, and equipped to foster a regenerative future for the planet. More information about the theme and tracks:
To foster a maximum level of learning, interaction and action around the conference theme, we invite both regular contributions as well as alternative contributions in the form of a ‘visual essay’. The two formats also inform the structure of the conference: day one is to be a ‘dissemination day’ for regular contributions while the visual contributions are the input for ‘exchange day’ on day two of the conference.
For dissemination day contributions please submit an extended abstract of 500-800 words. For exchange day abstracts please submit a visual essay. A visual essay is a sequence of images with extended captions that elaborate a narrative, position or finding.
When submitting your abstract please indicate which track you work best fits with but also indicate other tracks it might fit with. This to allow reviewers maximum flexibility in programming the breakout sessions.
The call for abstracts closes on 31 January 2026. Notification of acceptance will be sent by the 30th of March 2026. Revised submissions are due on the 15th of June 2026.
We manage this conference with Oxford Abstracts. Please register with your institutional email address.
